About Us

Integrating Yoga Therapy into Trauma Care

At Rhythm Yoga Therapy, we teach yoga and mental health professionals a mind-body approach to trauma care that integrates the ancient wisdom of yoga therapy with the latest evidence-based treatments. Our purpose is to harness the power of the human spirit through yoga therapy and healing relationship. We are committed to empowering our clients of all ages with tools to support their recovery journey and enhance their overall well-being.

Our Story

It all started with a book proposal: In 2023 Michelle Fury decided to write her second book Yoga Therapy for Complex Trauma (to be published by Singing Dragon, August 2025). After nearly two decades of seeing clients of all ages, and training professionals on how to integrate yoga into mental health treatment, Michelle wanted to give back. She invited Ayala Homossany, who'd trained with her in several contexts, to join her on this exciting, yet daunting project. In the year that it took to write the book, they held regular focus sessions with a small but dedicated handful of students, and had countless conversations with key opinion leaders in the fields of yoga, yoga therapy, trauma, psychology and neuroscience. By the time Michelle submitted the finalized manuscript on October 31, 2024, Rhythm Yoga Therapy was born. Read more about their personal stories and professional journeys below.
